If you could create music with another musician (local, famous, dead/alive), who would it be and why? Alan Menken, the composer of many Disney soundtracks. I am a huge Disney fan and love all the music he wrote. It would be very cool to create his music with him in an orchestra, as well as learn more about the inspiration behind the pieces
What is the one thing that instantly makes your day better? Being outside on a sunny, warm day!
What is your favorite random fact (NOT something about you)? Perfect pitch is not something that you are only born with. It can also be taught and developed in small children
Why do you think it's important to teach the younger generation music? I think it is important to teach the younger generation music, so they can understand the small details within each song or performance. Anyone can listen and enjoy music, but the more you learn about things like tone, dynamics, harmony, composition etc., the more you will have a deeper understanding, connection, and appreciation of what you are hearing
What is the most unexpected thing you have learned while studying music? Before studying music, I did not know how special it is to be a part of a group making music. I have always loved listening to music, but it is a whole different experience creating it surrounded by other talented musicians. I have really enjoyed having a role in creating music with others and would love to continue that for the rest of my life
